 1. Rika :  How to run computers in the first generation?

Astri: How to run the first generation of computers using vacuum tubes for circuitry and drum type for memory storage. Vacuum tubes are used to amplify the signal by controlling the movement of electrons in a vacuum. The first generation computers were difficult to operate and very expensive.

 2. Rika:  In what generation are general-purpose computers used?

Astri :In the 1st generation.  Namely in 1946, a United States scientist succeeded in making a computer that can be used for all kinds of versatile things which was named ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer). This computer is a large computer and takes up a lot of space because it consists of 18 thousand vacuum tubes, 70 thousand resistors, 10 thousand points, 75 thousand switches and 5 million solders that weigh up to 30 tons. This ENIAC computer is called the first generation computer.

3.  Rika: Do second-generation computers have a new component that can drastically reduce machine sizes called?

Astri:  transistor technology

4. Rika:  Why should computers evolve?

Astri: In order for computers to be more advanced day by day, computers from a computer that can only be a calculator are now programmed with the OS (eg windows, mac, etc.)

5.   Rika: What is meant by Hardware, Software, and Brain ware? Give examples!

Astri: Hardware is all the physical parts of a computer, and is distinguished by the data that resides in it or that operates on it, and is distinguished from software that provides instructions for hardware in completing production. Examples of Hardware: Mouse, Printer, Keyboard, Monitor, CPU, Power Supply, RAM, Sound Card.

Software is a special term for digitally formatted and stored data, including computer programs, their documentation, and various information that computers can read and write. In other words, part of a computer system that is intangible. Software Examples: Linux, Windows, MacOS, Google Chrome, Firefox, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office; Word, Excel.

Brainware is a person who uses, uses or operates a computer device. Examples of brainware are programmers, netizens, and people who are using computer devices.

6. Rika:   What is classified as a hardware import and process?

Astri: classification of hardware processes, namely:

1. Input Device (Input Device)

2. Processing Device

3. Output Device (Output Device)

4. Mass Storage or Secondary Storage or External Storage

5. Peripherals (Hardware Peripherals)

And the process of hardware (hardware) on a computer that functions as a processor and data processor that is entered through the input device and then issued through the output device in the form of information so that it will be accepted by the brainware. The computer hardware that holds the task as a processing tool is called the Central Processing Unit (CPU). Any incoming data from the input device (input unit) as well as data stored in the storage media, are all processed by the CPU.

7. Rika:   What is a programming language?

Astri: Programming language, or often termed computer language or computer programming language, is a standard instruction for governing a computer. This programming language is a set of syntax and semantic rules used to define computer programs.

8. Rika:  Why do computers have to perform peripheral maintenance?

Astri:  Computers must perform maintenance because computer peripherals are supporting equipment of a PC. If a computer is well-maintained and done frequently, the computer will not be damaged quickly, but if there are users who take care of the computer, the computer will be easily damaged. Computer maintenance is done at least once a week, but it would be even better if it was done every time it was used.

9.  Rika:    Mention Understanding of the Operating System on a Computer?

Astri : Operating System (OS) is one of the software or software that is responsible for regulating or controlling the work of hardware or hardware and running applications or software in a computer system.

10. Rika: Mention the types of operating systems on the computer!

Astri:

1. MS-DOS

2. Microsoft Windows

3. Unix

4. Linux

5. Mac OS

6. Chrome OS

7. Amiga OS

8.AIX

9. BE OS

10. Sun Sularis
